Work With Me : General THerapy

General therapy

If you are looking for ongoing therapy work, either by yourself, or with your partner to feel more satisfied, alive or to improve your relationships, I may be able to help.

Starting therapy can be scary. It might feel like you are going down a rabbit-hole and that you may have
to face things that you prefer not to. It may feel like you will need to “change” in ways that feel
uncomfortable.

And you might feel like you will have to see a therapist for years and years and years.

I don’t work that way.

I don't believe in endless therapy

I believe in setting clear goals and direction for your work with me and I believe in ongoing evaluation as to whether or not you feel you are making progress in those goals. If things get scary and overwhelming, I’m there to help and we will only go as far as feels comfortable to you. Understanding why you react a certain way, does not necessarily mean that you have to change your behavior. There is never a “no going back” in therapy.

And I’m here to support you every step of the way.

WHAT IF MY PARTNER DOESN’T WANT TO COME TO THERAPY?

You may want to set up an appointment by yourself, both to unpack what you are feeling and to discuss strategies that might make it easier for them to join in the project. I am a firm believer that changing the behavior of one partner can have significant impact on the entire relationship. It may not fix everything but it may help for you to gain more clarity, confidence and help you feel less angry or hopeless.

My work with you can focus on:

  • Improving relationships, be that romantic partners, friends, or children.
  • Accessing the pleasure of living, in your body, your career, your family and your life.
  • Understanding reactions and behaviors that feel out of control and helping you to change
    them.
  • Understanding what might be keeping you feeling stuck and helping you move forward
    towards defined goals.

If you would like to explore the possibility of therapy with me

I encourage you to book a free 10-minute consultation so we can discuss it, and see if it makes sense to work together.

Cost:

The cost of each 50-minute session is $400. I am aware that the cost may be a barrier for some people, and if that is the case, I encourage you to continue the search to find someone who works within your budget. If you do decide to work with me, I often make arrangements with clients to see them every other week, rather than weekly. And I will often tell clients that it is better to see an excellent therapist 10 times rather than seeing a mediocre one 25 times. In the long run you will make more progress and save significant time and money.

If you have out of network insurance coverage, you may well be reimbursed for a portion of the cost.

Let’s have a real conversation:

One that is straightforward, comfortable and most of all helpful.

Whether or not you decide to work with me, I wish you the best of luck as you look to find the pleasure of being alive.
